Has gaming killed television?

Netflix has finally come to the UK on all three consoles Wii, PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 not to mention all other forms of media.

So what do we think of it so far? I’ve only downloaded it on the Wii and also my Android phone so far but I can honestly say I’m very impressed and at only £5.99 a month it’s a bargain when you think of all the content you get.

While I was flicking through to see what is had to offer it got me thinking, I
never watch normal T.V anymore if I’m not playing games then I’m watching a movie and if I’m not watching a movie then I’m watching something on demand and now we have Netflix its pretty much got everything I could ask for.

So I guess what I’m saying is do you actually watch much live T.V. any more and can you see it becoming a thing of the past soon since are pretty much watching all our media on a consoles or computer.

Ok now I've actually used Netflix I have to say it is'nt the way forward lol. Dont get me wrong the concept/idea of it is spot on but Netflix as it is at the minute is utter shite. Unless your into foreign films or budget straight to video crap then your very limited to the amount of films your actually going to watch. Honestly anything I'm interested in watching on there i believe will be watched in a couple of days if that. The film library is really poor, theres nothing in the way of new titles .. maybe one or two. The tv shows are the same its crap your not going to watch.

lol your right about the amount of poor quality films mate but i honestly wont really use it for that im more interested in t.v series which i think there's quite a good selection so far that ive never watched, it will keep me happy for a wile anyway i just hope they update it regularly with new content, time will tell i guess :)

Nice first article Tojo, and welcome to the admin team! I will buy you some dubstep CDs as a reward, 'cause I know how you love it.

Tbh I haven't used netflix yet but to me it seems very much the way forward as like you point yourself my media viewing bounces between gaming & movies. Due to endless repeats & shows such as X-factor, big brother & TOWIE its very rare I watch tv now.

Well why pay £11 a month for a TV licence to watch stuff only when they put it on... or pay £5.99 to watch what you want.. when you want..

Me and the Mrs watch a fair bit of TV as it's on - I find it convenient just to be able to flick through and watch something. My problem is that with TV On Demand is that you need to know what you want to watch - I will often just browse programming to see what's on at the time and choose something from that.

My dad asked what NetFlix for PSN is like so I think I should be able to say what it's like in a couple of months as he'll be going for a month's trial. I'll probably be trying it out on PS3 after snowboarding, so look out for a mini review!
